A strangely touching story. I think it's been so ingrained into popular culture that when I read the book, the plot was overly familiar, despite the fact that I have never read the book before. It's best described in two parts, firstly the Giant v Humans and secondly the Giant v the Space Dragon. Oddly humourous, its simplicity and heart certainly made me smile throughout. I did find both parts of the book disconnected and one or two chapters a bit boring (and for a short book, this is a lot), which is probably why I didn't rate it as highly as I would've expected to.
